Conjunctions

Conjunctions are joining words. They join 2 sentences together and provide the reader with more information.
Join these sentences using a suitable conjunction.

1. The children listened. Mother read them a story.
The children listened, while mother read them a story.
2. We paid for his ticket. He had no money.
We paid for his ticket because he had no money.
3. I had to stay in. I had finished my work.
I had to stay in until I had finished my work.
4. He was promised a bicycle. He passed his test.
He was promised a bicycle if he passed his test.
5. Wait on the balcony. The rain stops.
Wait on the balcony until the rain stops.
6. Father soon found out. The boy had done.
Father soon found out what the boy had done.
7. I was there the accident happened.
I was there when the accident happened.
8. He switched on the light he could read his books.
He switched on the light so he could read his books.
